Statement
Arianna Bottinelli is an East London-based ceramicist who transitioned from a career in physics and scientific publishing to pursue her artistic passion. Currently studying for a UAL diploma in Art and Design (Ceramics), her work is inspired by nature, from forms and patterns, to materials’ properties, to human psychology. Arianna aims to create a sense of lightness in clay, transforming this heavy material into delicate, ephemeral pieces. Her scientific background informs her fascination with wild clays and glazes, reflecting her feeling that all aspects of nature, from the shape of a leaf to human interactions, are an endless source of inspiration.
