HOPE

This is a little portrait painting of my rescue silkie chick who was attacked by a predator and left with a broken leg and unable to move. I nurtured her for 3 weeks as a 2-week-old baby hoping she would survive. I put a lolly pop splint on her leg, and she lived down my bra to keep warm and safe away from the rest of the flock for 24 hours a day! She is now strong and walking again and ended up a beautiful rooster now fathering its own baby chick. It gives me immense joy to be able to help other living beings in need and to feel that I made just a small difference in this crazy world!
