Statement
Shedding light on the essential and recording personal diaries in paint whilst it still exists in the now has always been my true obsession.
Many of my paintings have a hidden symbolism which often refers to the transience of life in general. The meticulous craftsmanship of the earliest still master painters particularly from 15th century continue to inspire. Playing with the light and observing how dramatically it can change both the colour, appearance and meaning of the simplest objects. My still life works often include hidden interpretations of my own personal relationships. A wilted broken tulip can represent a sick friend.
