I watch and sketch live and learn about ravens a lot, and what strikes me about them is that they are not at all impressed or intimidated by the fact that humans are ten times bigger and more powerful than they are. Ravens walk tall and carry on as if they own the place and probably they are, no matter the odds. I find it impressive and inspiring. Ravens are created of the opposites - both stunningly beautiful and scary, clever and funny, powerful but tender, dangerous but sweetly loving.
This eternal contrast I wanted to express in this painting.
