White Tulips with grape hyacinths Edition of 25

'White Tulips with grape hyacinths' is part of my ongoing investigation into the relationship between photography and painting through the genre of still life. I am particularly interested in the play between what is real and what is a pictorial invention, as this is pertinent to both art forms. The still life paintings from the dutch 16th century are referenced here by the inclusion of the insects amongst the petals. I am also inspired by the unique forms, gestures and colours created by these flowers at various stages in time which I have bought together in one image.
