From the project "In the presence of a model"
In the traditional system of drawing both the artist and the model have their clear roles: the former produces "art" behind the machine, the latter is motionless while maintaining the posture chosen by the artist. The body, matter earlier strange to the artist, becomes his own image of someone else's body, the one that is signed and sold by the painter as his work purely. Throughout coming into possession of the form Andrei Andreev commits an act of transcendence beyond established rules of interaction between "creator" and "matter", he leaves o formal psychological field for the personal one. Such a transcendence is only possible throughout perfomatic interaction. With model inventing postures herself, she stimulates the artist's imagination to produce new images-fantasies. With them expressively breaking through on paper in the form of visual stories, they become evidence of a joint experience of participants in the artistic process.
