Where Pomegranates Weep
'Where Pomegranates Weep' has been created in response to the documentary 'Where Olive Trees Weep' accompanied by conversations on Palestine with leading historians, spiritual teachers, trauma therapists, poets and artists. It is also connected to the theme the artist explored earlier with another painting, the symbolism of non-dualistic philosophies, mystical practices and other systems of exploration. Pomegranates symbolise the mystical experience in the kabbalah, with the typical reference being entering the "garden of pomegranates". The title expresses a deep sorrow over the lack of presence in this spiritual realm where all things connect. It bears witness to the Palestinian experience in solidarity with those who have endured unimaginable hardship.
