The life of a family in the city, and the creations of complex social networks in a local community. This is painting is part of a series that explores the relationships between the building of social life and the building of places and spaces in a London neighbourhood. This series is based on personal experiences, using layering and contrast to create an impactful impression.

Neighbourhood1 is about the first strong relationships created through cycle of children’s daily routines. The making of strong bonds with people that share the same routine.

Neighbourhood2 is about the physical networks we create for ourselves in a local neighbourhood, layered upon a rich history of development and change. We never use or experience all a place has to offer and this painting is about my network and the way I experience my part of west London.
