Divine Unity
Acrylic on paper
I was inspired to create this series after visiting the gallery dell'Accademia, in Venice. I grew up atheist with a lack of understanding for religion but I have come to appreciate, once stripped back to its basic element, you are left with this beautiful moral core, that I find truly inspiring.
This is when I grew to find spirituality. I feel spirituality can benefit many people as its such a fluid belief. It encourages people to have their own thoughts and views with a common moral centre. I feel spiritual practices can really simplify life and help you focus on things that really matter. For example this piece explores the concept of love without boundaries, encouraging an openness to all forms of affection. It suggests that even if we don't fully understand someone's feelings or choices, we can still accept and support their right to follow the life they want to live.
