Anubis
Anubis: Egyptian god of mummification, the afterlife, and cemeteries. Often depicted as a jackal-headed god or as a jackal and is associated with death, embalming, and the protection of graves. Anubis was believed to play a crucial role in the funerary rituals of ancient Egypt, overseeing the weighing of the heart ceremony in the afterlife judgment process. Anubis was also thought to guide the souls of the dead to their tombs and defend them against evil spirits.
