Annis Booker

I was born in the North-East of England and have always had an interest in people, I work as a psychotherapist and paint portraits at Heatherley School of Fine Art. Painting portraits and therapy are a very similar process for me. I am interested in relationships, narratives, emotions and social issues.

I am keen for my work to explore something from the internal world giving it external shape and form. I want my painting to allow for everything on the canvas, as much of the modern world is frequently edited and filtered. I am searching for something authentic.
