Statement
I was born in Rome, Italy, and now live in London. I trained as a scientist, and worked in research laboratories in Europe and America.
I grew up in Rome, Italy, and have been living in London for many years. Urban sights are a recurrent theme in my work. I find buildings and the outskirts of a city are often run down and desolate, but close by they display a strange kind of raw and unkept beauty that retains memories of the people that lived within them– echoes that give them a life of their own, and one that I like to weave into my work. I also explore political and social themes by merging public figures with themes and icons from religious iconography.
My work has been selected for shows including the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in London, the C24 Gallery New York, The Green & Stone and Townhouse Spitafields Galleries in London, and the 508 Gallery in Chelsea and has been published in 2021 in print in the ‘Best of Acrylics - Special Issue: Winners of the AcrylicWorks 8 art competition.’
