Statement
I was born in Zimbabwe in 1962 and since the age of eight have lived primarily in central London. In the last 3 years I have been spending most of my time in rural Norfolk. This has had a profound effect on my work.
I am a ceramic artist and have been sculpting in clay for over 20 years, I have exhibited extensively throughout the UK.
My work explores the relationship between fables, fairytales and folklore and environmental issues, such as Deforestation, Extinction and Climate Change.
My animal sculptures often reference my Indian- African- British heritage.
Described as flamboyant and theatrical each sculpture is hand built in stoneware clay, glazed or hand finished using various techniques to reach the desired effect.
My most recent works include hares and dogs, in absolute loyalty and deference to the inspiration and beauty of rural Norfolk.
